Boating on the Serpentine takes on a unique charm during autumn and winter. As the leaves change colour and fall, the lake is surrounded by a tapestry of rich, warm hues, creating a magnificent backdrop for your boat ride. Hire a pedalo or a row boat to enjoy a unique perspective of Hyde Park from the water. Sail around Heron Island in the crisp air, go to the Serpentine Bridge and back, then treat yourself to a warming hot drink at the end. 

Opening hours

Boat hire in Hyde Park is open throughout the year.

Open daily April to October. Open Wednesday to Sunday (weather allowing) November to March.*

Opening time: 10:00
Closing times: 17:30 in April and May / 19:30 from June to August / 18:30 in September / Dusk from October to March

Please note, during busier periods of the year, it may be necessary to close the queue for boats at the end of the day to allow us to clear the lake. Please refer to signage on site to see the timings of the last boat out for each day. 

*Opening is weather dependant and will predominantly be Wednesday – Sunday, although this is subject to change based on the weather.

30 Minutes Boat Hire

• Family (off peak): £16.50**

Children under 3 years of age are free of charge. Under 12 months, not permitted. Carers are free of charge. Young persons aged 16 - 17 years, students and adults over 65 years are eligible for concessions with a valid ID.

**Off peak times in Hyde Park are 10am-12pm Mon-Sun.
