Only thing wrong is room was extra small. They tried to switch us, but couldn't. They generously offerd a great upgrade with jacuzzi for $100, we just didn't budget for it. That is the only problem.

We were greeted by a fantastic bellman and valet which gave us the impression that we had chosen the perfect place for our getaway. However, from there it all went down hill. The front desk gals were anything but pleasant, it was as if we were bothering them when we were the only ones there. They did not direct us to the elevators nor did they welcome us to the property. We arrived in our room which was completely run down, no handles on the windows, a burn in the seat, the towel rack falling off. The amenities were divine though. We wanted a drink brought to our room, the phone did not work. We then went to the spa for our treatments. There we were not shown the spa, no idea where the bathroom nor change rooms were. This is supposedly a 5* spa, I would give it a 2* at best. The massage therapist was the worst therapist I have ever had. We went to the pool after. The outdoor pools were fantastic !! The highlight of our trip. The steam room never got steamy at all and was not tended to. We could not order a drink even though there was a drink fridge there. We had to order room service, why you ask, because the pool guy was too young to serve drinks. That evening we went back to the front desk. We were then treated fabulously ! What a difference, this lady could not have been nicer ! The weekend brunch is superb with the best wait staff! Of course confusion when the bill came as the breakfast was included in our stay and there was no note to this on our room. With a few tweeks this could be the level of the Fairmont that I am accustomed to. However the last manager let it run down and no one has been in to fix the issues.
First, after traveling 6 1/2 h, when checking in, My time was frustrating & wasted because I was not advised in advance that I need a casino member for each room even though, The system let me book it with the special promotion price. I organized a trip for the whole family & extend family. Now, I need to get them evolved because they are also casino member. And during all our stay, we were given the run around. Took 4 hours to get slippers. Was told about a great look out near a church in la malbaie, was such a waste of our time. So much traffic and so dangerous with children. Then, wanted to enjoy a fire and marshmallows with my children around 7:15pm. Such a waste of our time and energy again. The fire wasn't lite before 8:15pm. I have a child with autism and this wasn't a reasonnable wait. It was literally the worst service I ever had at a hotel.
Had a pretty good stay at one of my favourite brands of hotels. The dining staff and food and wine selections were amazing. The two gals entertaining in the lounge were great as well and very personable. Bartender made FAB whiskey sours. Only real blemish was requesting my room be made up and coming back to nothing done. oh well... not typical fairmont but... oh well... i've made my own bed before.. ha
